The Purpose of the United Methodist Women

'The organized unit of the United Methodist Women shall be a community of women whose purpose is: to know God and to experience freedom as whole persons through Jesus Christ; to develop a creative supportive fellowship; and to expand concepts of mission through participation in the global ministries of the church.'

Mission

St Paul's UMW belongs to the Oregon-Idaho Conference which contributes to local and global missions.  Our unit contributes to The Clackamas Service Center, the Fellowship Fund of our church, Second Mile Giving, and Least Coin Offering - a world wide collection.  In addition:
  • We collect for special projects as called for by the United Methodist Committee on Relief (UMCOR).
  • We support the McCurdy School by collecting soup labels for them to use to purchase needed school items.
  • We give personal hygiene items to women and children at The Clackamas Service Center as needed.

Growth and Study

Every year we have a day of spiritual retreat at the Alton Collins Retreat Center.   We study and also attend the School of Christian Missions which includes geographical, spiritual, and social action programs.

Meetings

Our meetings are open to all women. We meet at a member's home the first Wednesday of each month.  We meet at the church four times a year.  Check the Calendar for Dates/Times
